Rio Rakoia is an experienced guitarist and singer songwriter with a versatile style. With his smooth, soulful vocals and accompanying guitar skills, Rio is able to make your function or special occasion one to remember.

Specialising in solo entertainment for wedding’s and private functions, Rio’s professionalism and sense of creativity allow him to work with you to engage the audience or to set a particular mood.

Although based in Sydney, Rio is available to be booked to perform anywhere in regional NSW, interstate and overseas.

Riordan (Rio) Rakoia was born in Rarotonga, Cook Islands and immigrated to Sydney when he was 9 years old. Rio’s love of music birthed itself in his late teens when he began playing drums. Rio then became interested in playing the guitar and singing and he continues all three today with passion and enthusiasm. Rio has also recently written and composed some original songs.

Rio’s Music Philosophy

Music, I believe is definitely one of the essential tools to reach ones heart. Music makes you dance, it makes you cry, and it stirs a whole lot of emotions within all of us. It inspires us to do things we sometimes lack the courage to do.
